Gilstrap, son of ILWU Local 8 Member Rick Gilstrap, donated the $216.00 he won
in the 50/50 raffle back to the kids! Shown accepting
the generous donation is Lee Duncan, one of two Co-Chairs of Unions for Kids and
an IBEW Local 48 Business Representative.
The Longshoremen not only "talk the talk" but really "walk the walk" when it
comes to supporting the community. Last year, another
ILWU member donated back the $100.00 he won for the high hand!!!

We
would like to thank the gentleman that showed the truest spirit of what this
event is about. He won the high Poker hand
in 2006 and was awarded the $100.00 cash prize. He
donated that amount back to the kids! Our most sincere thanks, thoughts and
