Thank you generous sponsors and participants who made it possible to match last year’s donation of $50,000 to the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Since inception eight years ago, Unions for Kids has raised $221,000.

	The winner of the raffle bike was IBEW Local Union 46 member Jim Tosh of Auburn, Washington, raffle ticket #0032. The retail value of the motorcycle was $18,804. He purchased his lucky ticket at IBEW Local Union 48. IBEW Local 48 members Terry Reigle & Jessica Ford cooked up the winning batch of chili in the cook-off. The poker run high hand winner was Chris Gadberry who gathered up five deuces, and Rudy Martinez of Carpenters Local 2154 won the low hand presenting a 1-2-3-4-5 wheel.
	This 8th annual Motorcycle Poker Run and Chili Cook-off held Saturday, June 12th was dedicated to committee member Barry White who passed away this year. Barry was a member of Millwrights Local 711. Barry started out with Unions for Kids at the very beginning, truly one of our founding members! He loved three things: the kids, his union, and being a proud veteran of the USMC. In memoriam this years after-run festivities was kicked off with a color guard performed by the Oregon Military Funeral Honors.
	Columbia Motorcycle was one of the largest sponsors again this year donating $3,000, as well as Carpenters 2154 donating $2154. $1,000 club sponsors were Carpenters Local 1388, IBEW Local 48, IBEW Local 280, IBEW Local 302, Pacific NW Council of Carpenters, ATU Division 757, IAM&AW Machinist Local Lodge 63 and JH Kelly, LLC.
	Union Yes Web Hosting, who regularly donates web hosting services to this Unions for Kids website, further donated a $1,000 web design package and one year hosting as a raffle prize. Pub 181, one of the motorcycle poker run regular checkpoints donated a thousand dollars of raffle items.
	This event would not have been possible without the help of the IBEW & United Workers Federal Credit Union providing the vast majority of volunteers and IBEW Local 48 for providing their beautiful facility.  Thanks to Local 48 Business Manager Clif Davis and staff for making sure we had plenty of time for set-up, the event and clean-up.
